Track Update - Davis Invite

Darts,
The week has been an incredible one. It was capped off with one of the best Davis Invites ever. We had some great performances, but as I said yesterday - even more important, we put on a near perfect meet. Thanks for doing an outstanding job at each of your positions. Thanks for helping us to set up the track and field to look the best it can look for it's final track meet. And thanks for putting so much energy and enthusiasm into the Invite. It truly does show the strength of our program. Thanks to those of you who found sponsors (or were sponsors) - we had another successful year as a fundraiser, and I guess we don't have to cancel next year's track season. Overall we raised just over $5,000.
A special thanks to the coaches and the parents who gave extra time and help: Coach West, Coach Parrish, Coach Hayward, Coach Agnello, Coach Brad Anderson, Coach Roger Burhley, Dave King, Jay Welk, Clayton Wilson, Leslee Wilson, The Lingards, The Spragues, The Wildings, Michelle Wilson, Thor Lindstrom, Brad Albrechtsen, Gary Bullock, Kourtney Sprague, Candace Eddy, Seth Frishknecht, Carly Cloward Ruth Jones, Sharolyn Arnold, all the mom's who helped set up and clean up the luncheon, and everyone else involved in setting up and running the meet. Coach West and I would also like to thank our spouses and our families for their support and for allowing us to spend so much time preparing for the meet.
As far as the actual competing goes, we had a lot of season bests and quite a few state qualifying marks. It was a perfect day for a track meet and we took advantage of it. Here is a re-cap of our solid performances and prs:

Thursday, April 22 - Junior High Meet - you will have your normal jobs. It is quite a bit of fun watching the younger kids figure things out.
Friday, April 23 - Woods Cross Invitational - 3:30 pm - We can only enter 4 athletes in each event (6 in the distance events) - you will know who is competing in what on Tuesday. PLEASE try to schedule your Junior Prom day activities on Saturday - or let us know if you for sure cannot compete on Friday ASAP. There will be 6 teams at the invitational and we would like to come home with the team trophies on both sides. It is a state qualifying meet.
Saturday, April 24 - No practice (prom)

Thanks once again for all of your commitment and sacrifice. As we look forward to the final 4 weeks of the season, let's continue to come together and focus on our championships (region & state).
- Coach Talley
