Davis Track Update

Darts -
I hope you had a great spring break and that you are refreshed and re-focused and ready for a killer 2nd half of the track season. We have some great events coming up and some awesome opportunities to prove ourselves and to show our TEAM strength. We also still have a lot of work until we are ready for the REGION and STATE championships. Don't get complacent! Don't finish the next 6 weeks in your comfort zone!
We want to see ALL of you working together and being a part of what our TEAM is trying to accomplish over the remainder of this season. You can either cruise through the rest of it or dig in and commit to our TEAM with full purpose and heart (I hope you choose the second option). Be determined to have your best races and your best performances in front of you! And have fun while doing it!!

Davis @ Syracuse (April 12) - The schedule is attached to this email. You can choose any events for the meet - we suggest that you run 2-3 total events (maybe one new event) and that ALL sprinters and hurdlers (and anyone else who wants to) run the 4 x 400 at the end of the meet. This meet will count for qualifying for the Davis Invite and for qualifying for the Region Championships.
We are asking that all athletes ride the bus out to the meet, stay until the end, and come back with the team. We don't have many "away" track meets this year, and we would like to do this one as a TEAM. Please let me know if you have to leave early with parents.

Davis Invite Sponsors - I have attached the sponsor form for the Davis Invite. We are still looking for quite a few EVENT or FAMILY sponsors ($100/$50). Please look at the attached information and help if you can. The sponsorships are due by Tuesday, April 19.

Belize 5k (Saturday 4/15) - Jenna Connell (your teammate) has put together a 5k fundraiser to help her earn her way on a humanitarian trip to Belize. The 5k is this Saturday at 8:30am starting at the Davis High track. ANYONE can participate (for a small donation of $15). You can handle this distance even if you are a sprinter, hurdler, jumper, or thrower! It will be a great Saturday event. Come and support Jenna and get in your weekend workout. The course goes through Nichols Hollow (my favorite as you know). Parents, siblings, and friends can come and race as well. You can pre-register online or register the morning of the race. Here is the link -

Woods Cross Invite (April 21) - The top 5 in each event and some relays will race next week Friday night at the Woods Cross invite. I will send out more information and the entry list next weekend.

Morgan Invite (April 22)
- Those of you who are just below the Woods Cross entries will have a chance to race in an Invite next Saturday at Morgan High School. I will send out more information and the entry list next weekend.

Stay humble and hungry! Each of you can still put in some solid work and really show improvement over the final 6 weeks of the season!! Finish Strong!
- Coach Talley
