Track Update - March 4

Darts - 
Great first week of practice. The weather finally started cooperating near the end of the week, and it was good to see so many of you out on the track and the field working hard. We are starting to build a TEAM. Everyone can contribute by showing up with a positive attitude, encouraging your teammates, and trying hard to be your best on and off the track.

The time trials went well on Thursday. Since they fell a little earlier this year, we only did the 100m and 300m time trial. The first recorded measurements in the hurdles, distance races, and field events will come at the Alumni Meet this next Friday. If you want to see your time trial results, you can look at www.darttrack.blogspot.com We had some timing glitches and missed a few heats - sorry if they were yours. You will have plenty of other opportunities to test yourself. 

Eligibility - Make sure you have completed the 5 Eligibility Requirements ASAP. This week is the crucial timing to get everything done. We don't want to have to spend time beyond this week checking on eligibility. The requirements are attached to this email. 
If you have not yet had a physical, you can get your physical done on Monday night at 5:30 at the school for $15. If you have not signed the drug consent form this year, you need to attend the meeting on Wednesday at 5:00pm (cafeteria) and bring 1 of your parents.

Apparel - The first apparel order was completed this past Wednesday. Most of the items should show up within 2 weeks. If you decide you want to order anything on the 2nd order, the forms and payment are due by Tuesday, March 14th.

This Week:
Monday - Physicals available at the school at 5:30pm for $15
Tuesday - Eligibility Requirements Due (other than Drug Consent Form)
Wednesday - Drug Consent Meeting - Cafeteria at 5:00pm. Athlete + 1 parent should attend. 
Thursday - Shoe/Spike Night at Wasatch Running Center in Centerville 5:30-7:00pm (20% off spikes, 15% off shoes).
Friday - Alumni Meet @ 3:00pm (Information Below)

Alumni Meet - Friday, March 10th at 3:00pm. Our first track meet is just within our own team. We will divide into 4 teams - Seniors vs Juniors vs Sophomores (and Freshmen) vs Alumni. The scores will be adjusted according to age (Seniors x 1, Juniors x 1.5, Sophomores x 2.0). Top 8 finishers in each event will score points for their team (10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1). Parents are invited to come and cheer. The pole vault competition is going to take place on Wednesday (March 8th) at 3:00pm (girls first then boys).
