Track Update - April 3

Darts -
I hope you have enjoyed your spring breaks. It is important to get rest (both physically and mentally), so I hope you come back rested and ready to work hard, but I also hope you stayed active and didn't lose a bunch of your fitness. I am looking forward to the next part of the season to see what kind of progress we can continue to make. I would like to remind you that the work we do in the next 3 weeks will be what carries us through the region and state championships. Work hard, put heart into what we are doing, and leave your mark on the TEAM.

District Championships - The District championship meet is this week on Tuesday and Wednesday at Syracuse High School. I have attached the schedule and entries for the meet. Please review the schedule closely and let me know if you have any questions. Not everyone gets to compete at this meet because it is a championship, but everyone can come out to watch and support. We will go over the details at practice on Monday (very important to be there!)
Spectators will cost $3, competitors are free. You will be excused both Tuesday and Wednesday at 1:15, and the buses will leave at 1:30. Please try to stay until the end on Wednesday - we will do a team picture if we win.
Although not all of you get to compete this week, everyone will get to compete in all their events at the remainder of the weekday region meets (Wednesdays). We will have 4 Wednesdays in a row with meets (April 13, 20, 27, and May 4) where everyone can do up to 4 events.

Eligibility - We will run a new eligibility check this week after 3rd term grades are finalized. If you receive any 'U's, you will need to make those up before you compete. If you receive below a 2.0, you will not be eligible for the rest of the track season.

UVU Invite - A small group of athletes competed at the UVU Invitational on Saturday. Congrats to our new state qualifiers - Ruby Jane Mathewson and Megan Rowe in the 300 Hurdles, Jake Moffett in the 200m Dash, and Ashley Harris in the pole vault. Also congrats to event winners, Ruby Jane Mathewson in the 300 Hurdles and Matt Calvin in the pole vault.

Apparel - The 2nd order of hoodies and t-shirts are in and we will hand them out at practice tomorrow. The rest of the apparel should arrive this week.

Upcoming Schedule -
April 5-6: District Championships at Syracuse (3:00pm)
April 13: Hunter/Syracuse @ Davis (3:00pm)
April 20: Davis @ Viewmont (3:00pm)
April 23: Davis Invitational

Please don't take these next 6 weeks for granted. Push yourselves harder than you ever have before! Treat the rest of this season and this TEAM as something special and you won't regret it.
See you tomorrow at 2:45!
Coach Talley
